Captivate includes the eLearning authoring desktop software. The Creative Cloud All Apps bundle does not include Captivate.

SIU School of Medicine customers must direct Adobe requests to the SIU SOM IT support queue (techsupport@siumed.edu).

Install Captivate

Personal Device

Upon approval of a Captivate software request for a personal device, a license is assigned to the Adobe ID.

1. Open https://www.adobe.com/products/captivate/vipdownload.html.
2. Download and install Adobe Captivate.
3. Sign in the Adobe ID. If prompted, select either the Southern Illinois University – All Campus profile or Company or School Account.

SIU Carbondale Device

Upon approval of a Captivate software request for an SIU Carbondale device, a license is assigned to the Adobe ID and Captivate installs automatically over the campus network.

1. Connect to the campus network. If working remotely or on a private network, then sign into the Virtual Private Network (VPN).
2. Stay online and connected to the campus network for several hours, then open Acrobat to confirm successful installation.

School of Medicine Device

SIU School of Medicine customers must direct Adobe requests to the SIU SOM IT support queue (techsupport@siumed.edu).

Activate Captivate

1. Open Adobe Captivate.
2. Sign in the Adobe ID. If prompted, select either the Southern Illinois University – All Campus profile or Company or School Account.
