Install Microsoft Windows Desktop Runtime
1. Open Installer
- Download the Microsoft Windows Desktop Runtime 8.0 (x64).
- Open the windowsdesktop-runtime-8.0.0-win-x64.exe installer.
2. Windows Desktop Runtime
- Click Install.
3. Installation was successful
- Click Close.
Install ArcGIS Pro for Windows
1. Uninstall ArcGIS Pro
- Uninstall any previous ArcGIS Pro installations.
2. Download Installer
- Open the email invitation from Software Licensing Team.
- Click Open and download the installer.
3. Open Installer
- Open the ArcGIS_Pro_33_189446.iso disk image with Windows Explorer.
- Open the Esri drive.
- Open the ArcGISPro_33_190016.exe installer.
4. Destination Folder for Files
- Click Next.
5. Installation files have been successfully extracted to your computer
- Check Launch the setup program.
- Click Close.
6. ArcGIS Pro Setup splash screen
- Click Next.
7. Welcome to the ArcGIS Pro Setup program
- Click Next.
8. Master Agreement
- Select I accept the master agreement.
- Click Next.
9. Installation Context
- Select Anyone who uses this computer (all users).
- Click Next.
10. Select Features
- Click Next.
11. Ready to Install the Program
- Click Install.
12. ArcGIS Pro has been successfully installed
- Check Run ArcGIS Pro now.
- Click Finish.
13. Sign in ArcGIS Pro
- Proceed to Sign in ArcGIS Pro below.
Sign in ArcGIS Pro
1. Configure Licensing
- Open the ArcGIS Pro app.
- At the ArcGIS Sign In window, click Configure Licensing.
2. Licensing
Academic Users:
- Select the License Type:
- Named User License
- Enter the ArcGIS Online URL:
- https://siucarbondale.maps.arcgis.com/
- Click OK.
Administrative Users:
- Select the License Type:
- Named User License
- Enter the ArcGIS Online URL:
- https://siuc.maps.arcgis.com/
- Click OK.
3. ArcGIS Sign In
Academic Users:
- Click Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
- Sign in with your @siu.edu.
Administrative Users:
- Enter your assigned ArcGIS Online username and password, not your @siu.edu credentials.
- Click Sign In.
Troubleshoot
1. Corrupted/Incomplete Download
To verify successful download, compare the file checksum with the table below. If the checksum does not match, then download again with a different web browser.
