AIS PDF authentication error

Viewing AIS output “.pdf” files in Chrome Fails With “Authentication Failed” Message

When attempting to view AIS request output formatted as .pdf (like W-2 for example),
the following error occurs.

ERROR

Authentication failed.

Cause:

Not being able to view .pdf output from AIS is due to a Chrome browser settings issue.

Solution:

Turn off the ‘Adobe Acrobat: PDF edit, convert, sign tools’ Chrome extension.

1. On the upper right corner of the browser window, click on the icon that looks like a puzzle piece. This will show a list of Extensions in use.

2. Click on the three vertical dots next to the Adobe Acrobat: PDF edit, convert, & sign tools Extension and then select “Manage Extension”.

3. Click on the switch next to the on/off button on the resulting screen. The on/off indicator should now be in “Off” mode.

Chrome will then use its default Adobe pdf output Viewer so the report will open
