Using MOVEit minimizes the likelihood that information could potentially be compromised. In addition, students, faculty, and staff can send non SIU individuals data securely via MOVEit. When sending the data, a temporary account will be made on behalf of the individual.

Google accounts are useful for accessing a number of online resources. The one most often used for SIU purposes is Google Analytics. This method will create a Google Account that can Access Analytics and other tools, without creating a private Google email account. All mail and communications will go to your existing business account that is protected and secured by SIU.
Private email accounts should not be used for business purposes. As such, this is the recommended method to setup accounts for accessing Google-based tools.

The Office of Information Technology at SIU runs monthly scans for Personal Identifiable Information (PII) on all SIU-Owned devices. This is material that could be used to steal someone's identity. Common things that are found are Social Security Numbers, Drivers License numbers, and banking information.
