Creating Discussions in D2L (MyCourses)

1. Go to COMMUNICATION and then click on DISCUSSIONS
2. Click on NEW
3. Choose NEW FORUM from the drop-down menu
4. Enter PROPERTIES of your new discussion forum, including TITLE, DESCRIPTION, OPTIONS, AVAILABILITY (Note: You only NEED to create one forum to link all your discussions to, or you can create multiple forums if that better suits the needs of your course)
5. Click SAVE AND ADD TOPIC
6. NEW TOPIC
7. Enter the PROPERTIES for your new discussion topic (Note: Availability determines when discussions are visible to students and Locking Options determines when students can post to discussions)
8. Click SAVE AND CLOSE
