Manage Share Settings in Microsoft Stream

Overview

In this how-to guide, learn how to manage share permission settings in Microsoft Stream.

Step 1: Click on Share at the upper right corner and then click on Share in the drop down menu.

Step 2: The default access permission of Share is “Anyone with the link can edit.” To restrict the default access permission, Click on “Anyone with the link can edit.”

Step 3: Sharing Setting window pops up. More settings become available.

Limit Editing Access

Click on Can edit and then select Can view.

Add an Expiration Date

Click on the calendar line and then select an expiration date.

Add a Password

Click on Set password line to add a password. Do remember to share the passcode with people you intend to share the video with.

Block Download

Step 1: To activate Block download, change the setting to Can view. Then click on the toggle to turn on Block download.

Step 2: After appropriate changes are made, click on Apply at the bottom.

Step 3: Send Link to people through name or email or Copy Link to the clipboard for share. The changes are reflected in the “Anyone with the link can…” statement.
