Microphone doesn’t work in Microsoft Teams

If you’re having trouble hearing others in your Teams calls and meetings, the problem is either with your speaker not working, or with your microphone. If other participants can hear each other well, the problem is with your microphone.  

Here are some solutions to help you get back on track for all devices.

  1. Open System Preferences on your Mac.

2. Click on Security & Privacy.

3. Select the Privacy tab.

    Select Teams under microphone

    4. Scroll down and click on Microphone.

    5. Check the box next to Microsoft Teams to allow access to your microphone.

    6. Restart Microsoft Teams if it is already open.

    7. During a call or meeting, click on the three-dot menu and select Device settings.

    8. Under Audio devices, select the microphone you want to use from the Microphone drop-down menu.
