Siu Faculty Members and Graduate Students Can place request for software that is needed for their work and research. Undergraduate students needing access to these programs will need to use VDI you can learn more here:

Request for A Personal Device

The Software Request form can be found here:

https://oit.siu.edu/salukitech/software/

Step 1

Enter your Dawgtag please do not put siu in front enter only the 85xxxxxxx number

Step 2

Enter either a phone number or email other than your siu email that you can be reached at

Step 3

Use the drop down menu to select the device ownership in this case you will select Personal Device

Select the highlighted option from the drop down menu

Step 4

Select the roll that matches your status at siu

Step 5

Select Software from the drop down menu select the software you are requesting if not listed select that and then in the comment give the name of the software being requested

Software that has a purchase cost

Licenses for some software may have an additional cost in this case the following set of questions will pop up to be answered if this does not happen proceed to step 9

Step 6

Enter the Budget Purpose Number – this will be given to you by your department. This number is no more than 6 digits.

Step 7

Enter Budget Purpose Title – this will be the reason for your software purchase

Step 8

Enter the Fiscal Officer/Delegate – enter the name of the person who will be approving the purchase of the software

Step 9

Enter any comments needed for the completion of this request or the name of the unlisted software you are requesting

Step 10

Check the box for an email receipt if you would like and hit submit

Next Steps

You will get an email telling you that the software request was placed and then once the request goes through you will get instructions on how to download and install the software. Requests typically take about a week to process if you need the software in the mean time you can use VDI:

Request for An SIU Owned Device

The Software Request form can be found here:

Step 1

Enter your Dawgtag please do not put siu in front enter only the 85xxxxxxx number

Step 2

Enter either a phone number or email other than your siu email that you can be reached at

Step 3

Use the drop down menu to select the device ownership in this case you will select Institutional Device – SIU Carbondale.

Please Note: If you are associated with SIU Med you will select Institutional Device – SIU School of Medicine instead

Step 4

Enter the property tag for the device this will be a 6-digit number listed on a sticker on the tower of the computer or written on the bottom of the laptop

Step 5

Select Software from the drop down menu select the software you are requesting if not listed select that and then in the comment give the name of the software being requested
